Kip Soteres is a change communications expert with 20 years of experience in health care, insurance, high-tech, banking, and manufacturing industries. In that time, he has won Gold Quill and Silver Anvil awards from the International Association of Business Communicators and the Public Relations Society of America for change communications targeting large employee populations.

Before becoming a consultant, he led internal communication and training teams at companies including Cadence Design Systems, BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, PNC Bank, and Highmark Health. In those roles and as an external consultant, Soteres has supported change efforts that include corporate restructurings, mergers & acquisitions, employee integrations & workforce actions, strategy rollouts, engagement surveys, cyber-security, cost-reduction, HR system implementations, and customer satisfaction initiatives. He further specializes in HR communications related to benefits, compensation, retirement, performance management, diversity and inclusion, recruiting, and employee onboarding.

Soteres works closely with executive leadership to develop training and internal communications that create business impact and transform cultures at companies that include Highmark, PNC Bank, West Virginia University Medicine, Comcast, ADP, the BlueCross BlueShield Association, American Textile Company, Avatar DPS and Juniata University. For the past five years, he has also taught graduate classes on Change Communications and Risk & Crisis Communications at Chatham University as an adjunct professor.

Soteres has a B.A. in English from Dartmouth College and a Master’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He has been published and cited in the Journal of Employee Communications Management; the Silicon Valley IABC Newsletter; PRWeek; and Ragan Communications. He blogs on a range of HR, training and other change communication topics and speaks regularly at regional IABC, PRSA, PANO, and DisruptHR events.
